MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — La Vergne police say they have arrested a teacher on charges of reckless endangerment after receiving a report that she put three children in the trunk of her car.

Andria James

Police received the report Sunday evening from someone at the Speedway gas station on Murfreesboro Road.

When officers arrived, they found Andria James, 32, with three children, ages 9 and 10, in the trunk of her car, said John Fresmire of the La Vergne Police Department. They also found six children, of the same ages, in the cab area of the vehicle.

James told police she works at Alex Green Impact School, 3921 Lloyd Road in Whites Creek. The school is part of Metro Nashville Public Schools.

Parents of the children were called to pick up their children and James was arrested and booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. She was released from jail on a $1,000 early Monday morning, according to jail records.
