MINNESOTA, USA — Another breezy day is on tap as a cold front slides through the area today. A few showers will be possible, but expect mainly dry conditions with partly to mostly cloudy skies as winds shift out of the northwest.
A few isolated showers will be passing through the area as a weak low pressure system exits the region tonight.
The winds have been strong from the northwest today gusting towards 30 mph, but they will be settling down this evening. This is the 21st day this April we've had wind gusts over 30 mph.
There is a risk of freezing temperatures damaging sensitive plants around the region tonight. A Frost Advisory will be in effect for parts of central and southern Minnesota overnight. A Freeze Warning is in place for western Wisconsin and southeastern Minnesota through Wednesday morning.
It will be a cold start to Wednesday all across the region; temperatures will fall to the 20s and low 30s across northern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
After a frosty start to our day, we'll end up with seasonal temperatures under blue skies along with a light southeast breeze.
There is a much better chance for widespread beneficial rain starting early Friday lingering into Saturday morning followed by a second round of rain on Sunday lingering into Monday morning.
Looking beyond rain chances this week, temperatures will remain fairly steady with only minor swings in the numbers.
