Man found dead after vehicle goes into Straight River

Authorities have revealed the man's name.

Crews searched the Straight River after a vehicle was found Monday afternoon.

STEELE COUNTY, Minn. —  A 71-year-old New Richland man died Monday after his vehicle went into Straight River, according to State Patrol.

A Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 near the Straight River Rest Area when it left the roadway and broke through the guardrail, then went into the river, according to State Patrol.

State Patrol has revealed that the man's name is Ray Mudgett. 

The vehicle was completely submerged when emergency personnel arrived, and the man was found dead.
