Maintaining health, keeping your cool as heat rises

A local fitness trainer shares tips and tricks to surviving the summer.

PLYMOUTH, Minnesota — Memorial Day is May, 27th, 2019, and that means the unofficial start of summer is almost here!

A recent study published by the American Physiological Society shows that our cortisol levels soar during the summer months, resulting in everything from high blood pressure, irritability and weight gain to a comprised immune system and impaired brain function.

Why? Many of us are over scheduled with graduation parties, sporting events, backyard BBQ’s and much more.

Experts say that means there’s less time to take care of our ourselves, which means less  opportunity for exercising, healthy eating and sleeping. We are simply running on empty.

Never fear... Connie Sheehan, founder of PUSH Fitness, has your summer stress survival guide to keep your mind and body fit, no matter how hot it gets outside!
