Local country music artists to be honored at Midwest CMA Awards

The annual event is Sunday, Feb, 16 at the Medina Entertainment Center.

MEDINA, Minnesota — The top country music talent in the Midwest will be honored this weekend at the Midwest CMA Awards.

The ceremony is Sunday, Feb. 16 at the Medina Entertainment Center off Highway 55 in Medina, Minnesota.

The annual event recognizes outstanding country music artists in the region, and celebrates the growing country music scene in our area.

The black tie-optional event will be hosted by Twin Cities media personalities, and feature 14 live performances, as well as awards in several categories, including Best Female Vocalist, Best Male Vocalist, Entertainer of the Year, Song of the Year, Album of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Americana Artist of the Year among others.

The night will begin with red carpet arrivals at the Medina Entertainment Center. After the ceremony, VIP ticketholders are invited to attend a special post-party.

Last year’s show quickly sold out after hitting capacity at 550. This year, organizers have increased capacity to 750 to accommodate the growing interest in country music in the Midwest.

Doors open for the event at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, with red carpet arrivals until 4:45 p.m. The show starts at 6:00 p.m.

Tickets for the Midwest CMA Awards start at $20 for general admission, or $50 for VIP tickets, which include post-party access.
