Isanti wedding venue suddenly closes, clients out thousands

Circle B abruptly closed its doors Sunday, telling couples through email that they were closing and no one was available to answer questions about what comes next.

ISANTI, Minn. — Before couples could say "I do," Circle B is saying they won't.

The Isanti wedding venue that could accommodate up to 400 guests in their Isanti barn shuttered over the weekend. They informed clients through an email on Sunday of the closing.

In the last line of the email, the venue said nobody is available to take calls or emails.

This sent couples into a frenzy, including Katelyn Stalboerger, who turned to TikTok for help. The Ham Lake native was supposed to get married at Circle B on May 4.

"Just utter shock. It feels like a bride's worst nightmare," Stalboerger said.

She booked the venue last April and said her family paid Circle B $11,500. She reported what happened to Cottage Grove Police, and vented in a video that now has hundreds of people asking her how they can help.

So did Angie Santiago, who was supposed to get married in June.

"We absolutely want our money back," Santiago said.

She and her fiancé paid just over $7,000 to Circle B. They say the owners said they would give them a discount if they paid by the end of 2023.

"I didn't immediately jump to believe this was real until I went to their website, and it was gone. And, their social media was gone," Stalboerger said.

Before the owners took down the website for Circle B, they described their wedding venue as a "breathtaking 15.59-acre property that provides a picturesque backdrop for any special occasion, with rolling hills and stunning views of the surrounding countryside."

The property is listed for sale for $2.4 million. The listing reads that the property," is ready for its next owner to continue the tradition of excellence."

The owners also own Furber Farm in Cottage Grove. They're named in a pending civil lawsuit in Washington County for a different property. KARE 11 made multiple attempts to reach them for comment.
